Achim Baderech · Brothers in passage

אחים בדרך

Divorced is not the whole of a man. We walk the next stage together.

Founded in 2012 to advocate for the divorced men of the frum community. We offer practical, moral and emotional support, and we work to change how a divorced man is seen: as a teacher, a rebbe, a businessman, a father, a ben Torah.

Welcome to Achim Baderech

In yeshiva every boy is equal, and after marriage each man has his own home. A divorced man has lost that home, and the community has no set place for him. Our commitment is to give each man the opportunity of an improved quality of life, with independence, inclusion, individuality and productivity.

We speak up for divorced men locally, nationally and internationally, and we start groups wherever men need them.

Where we are

  • • London, England
  • • Eretz Yisrael

Men and volunteers from every corner are welcome.

What we do

Supportכל ישראל ערבים

Group meetings with experienced counselors, attorneys, rabbis, educators and inspirational speakers: dealing with a former spouse and support, and building good relationships with children and stepchildren, according to halachah and law. Every member is paired with a mentor.

Eventsאירועים

Gatherings where members meet others who understand their situation. Friends who share your circumstances are a basic need, not a luxury.

Shabbatonsשבתון

Weekends away: Shabbos among friends, with the warmth of a community behind you.

Seminars

Practical sessions on the questions that come after a divorce, from family and finances to the next step in life.

Shidduchimשִׁדּוּכִים

Help clarifying what you are looking for, and introductions to shadchanim. Through Bayis Shaini, a linked organization, shadchanim work from a confidential database.

Yeladim B’Derech

Children in transition. A child who knows both parents love him is secure, wherever he sleeps. The program supports children and the parents raising them.

Looking for a shidduch?

Bayis Shaini is a separate organization, linked with Achim Baderech for shidduchim. It is for previously married men and women and the older singles open to dating them, and for shadchanim who want to help. To apply for help or to join as a shadchan, write to us and we will connect you.

Find your inner power by helping others

Achim Baderech is always looking for new volunteers. The need is, sadly, growing. If you can help with events, mentoring or shidduchim, we would like to hear from you.

For members

Create an account and ask to join. Once an organizer accepts you, the services open: the Kvittel, קוויטל, the list of names to print and to say in prayer (members only), and the programs as they open. Members can also join the Kvittel list from there; that form is in Yiddish.
