The teacher’s guide
How Class Manager runs your classroom
A calm, organized class: one simple behavior system, points that add up by themselves, students who help run the room, rewards they work for, and report cards in minutes. Built by a teacher, for teachers.
The idea in one minute
You keep teaching on paper, the way you always have. Class Manager does everything that comes after the paper.
- Open Menu in the corner to choose a section and its pages. Reports → Points Bank holds Rewards, Points Adjustments, Points Breakdown and Points Graph. Help and the language choices are in the same menu.
- Print: every sheet comes out with your class list, the week's dates and your school's letterhead.
- Mark in class: with a pen, the way you're used to. On the behavior sheet an empty box is a good day, so you only mark what's different.
- Snap a photo: the marks are read in for you to check, and the photo is kept on file. (Or type them, or say them out loud.)
- It adds up: points, the points bank, rewards owed, graphs and report cards update by themselves.
Set up once (about 15 minutes)
Do this at the start of the year. Everything else builds on it.
- General → School, Teacher & Student Info: your name, school and grade, and the school's logo or letterhead for every printed page.
- Upload your class list from Excel, Word or PDF: every column comes along (phones, parents, address, bus) into Class Info.
- Calendar Setup: your school year, vacations and days off, so every sheet shows the right dates.
- Seating Chart: drag students to seats or type their numbers in. Student Jobs and Monitor Groups are ready with a standard list.
The behavior system: calm, fair, predictable
Every student starts every day with 2 points. Students know exactly where they stand, and you never have to raise your voice to make a point.
- A reminder costs a point: 2 → 1 → 0, and a third reminder dips into the bank (−1). On paper an empty box means no disturbance (2 points) and each mark (a line, X or ✓) takes off one point; scan the sheet and it's all counted.
- Late (L) is recorded as a late and counts as a mark: one point off. Absent (A) is recorded as absent and counts nothing that day, so no one is punished for being sick.
- Bonus points for going above and beyond: kindness, effort, helping a friend. Catch them being good.
- Because most boxes stay empty, the sheet takes seconds a day, and the good days speak for themselves.
The points bank: everything students do adds up
One running total per student, the same number everywhere: on the bank, the graph, the rewards and the report card.
- Daily behavior and bonuses, + 1 point for each week's homework returned, + 1 for each week's class work completed, + 0–2 for the week's responsibility (a signed test, a returned slip).
- A test score of 90 or more adds a bonus point by itself.
- Your own adjustments for a special arrangement, with a reason, so every point can be explained to a parent.
- The Points Graph shows every student side by side: a strong motivator when you share it with the class.
Rewards students work for
Points turn into something real, and the program keeps track of who's owed what.
- Every 20 points earns a ticket; every 40, a candy (or whatever your class uses). Rewards shows what each student has earned and what's still owed.
- Record a hand-out in one tap; "everything owed has been given out" catches the whole class up after a prize day.
- End of the year: achievement award certificates, each student's level set by the year's points, with a title you choose.
Students who help run the class
Jobs and monitors give every student responsibility, and take small tasks off your hands.
- Student Jobs: a standard list (attendance, board, books, monitors…) handed out in order, rotated with one tap each week.
- Monitor Groups: split the class into 2, 3 or 4 groups by the seating chart. Each group gets a printed card for its monitor to mark behavior, work and attendance.
- Fair marking: each group is marked by a monitor from another group, so nobody marks his own friends.
- The seating chart shows each student's job, and Undo fixes any seat moved by mistake. “Seat cards” sets how every card reads: the name's format and color, the job's wording, size, color, font and place, the student's number, the box, and a front-of-the-room line.
Your week, start to finish
A rhythm that takes minutes, not evenings.
- Before the week: Bundled Printing → Next week: every sheet you need (behavior, monitor cards, notes) in one print job, in your order.
- During the week: mark on paper, or tap on a tablet in class.
- End of the week: snap a photo of each sheet, check the yellow boxes the reader wasn't sure of, save. The photo is kept under Scanned sheets.
- Homework, Class-Work and Responsibility: one page for half the year (or the weeks you pick), room to write in every box.
Report cards in minutes
Grades, attendance and behavior fill in by themselves. You add the human touch.
- Trust, Cooperation and Conduct are worked out from the year's behavior, consistently for every student.
- Pick a comment from a bank of proven comments, written by a real teacher, with the student's name already in, then make it your own. Add your own comments to the bank.
- Standard or formal style, on your school's letterhead, ready to print.
Ready-made sheets for the whole year
The papers every teacher needs, with your heading already on them.
- Beginning of year: welcome letter, student info sheet, class contract.
- During the year: behavior report for parents, reflections, thank-you notes, a Notes sheet with a line for each student.
- End of year: diplomas and achievement awards. Lesson sheets and math tests with new examples every time and an answer key.
- ✨ AI worksheets: type the subject, grade, language and topic; the AI drafts a worksheet or test with an answer key. Check and edit every question (Edit), then Save to Resources and Print.
Your own pay, clearly tracked
Private: only you see it. Not the principal, not the school.
- Set the salary you agreed on for the year and see it add up: gross and net, deductions, what's still owed, and whether each paycheck came on time.
- Record tips and gifts from parents, by family and by student.
For principals and schools
One system across the school, with each teacher's class in their own hands.
- Your school's logo and letterhead set once, for every teacher's sheets.
- Share a class with a colleague, or copy a school calendar to every teacher in a few clicks.
- English, עברית and ייִדיש, each class in its own language, right to left where it should be.
💡 Tips that work in the classroom
- Start the year by explaining the 2-point day to the class. Post the key (empty = good day, | = a reminder) where everyone can see it.
- Be consistent: the same reminder costs the same point for everyone. The sheet keeps you fair without thinking about it.
- Give bonus points generously and out loud. Students work harder for recognition than for fear of losing points.
- Hand out rewards on a fixed day each week, so students can look forward to it.
- Rotate jobs and monitors every week, so every student gets a turn to lead.
