Peace & Harmony

Peace and harmony is more than a name to me. It's what I hope to bring to everyone I work with: a student, a family at their simcha, someone caring for their health, or someone going through a hard time. Real peace starts inside a person, in the body, the heart and the neshamah, and when those are in harmony, it shows in the home, in the classroom and in the community. That's why my work spans education, health, music and people. To me, they're one calling.

Education

I've been a teacher for over ten years, in English and in Yiddish, in many schools across New York. Substituting in so many different classrooms taught me what really makes a class work: clear expectations, warmth and respect, and a teacher who truly sees each child. Over the years I developed my own skills and tools to run a class smoothly and efficiently.

I also founded a substitute-teacher agency, to help teachers find a reliable sub when they need one. And out of everything I learned in the classroom I built Class Manager, so teachers can spend less time on paperwork and more time on their students.

Health and healing

I studied naturopathy with Dr. Christian Limoges ND and have over ten years of practice, offering health consultations, products and education. It's a natural, simple, ancient approach to healing, and it starts with education: education prevents medication. Food is the best medicine, when we learn the proper way to nourish ourselves.

A healthy body makes room for healthy emotions. I've studied and experienced courses and healing methods for emotional improvement, regulation and correction, including the Possible You seminar with Rabbi Yom Tov Glazer, and various other personal growth and educational seminars. And it all ties into the spiritual: when the body and the emotions are healthy, so is our relationship with our spirit and with Hashem, the Creator of the whole world.

Music

Music has been with me all my life. I come from a family of baalei tefillah, and I've been training my voice for over fifteen years: singing with choirs, studying chazanus, and playing guitar and violin. That lets me lead, compose, build my own collections of songs, and perform in my own style, bringing the whole crowd into the song.

I lead davening in shul and at all kinds of occasions, from a simple, heartfelt tefillah to a full musical, creative davening with a choir. I've performed at simchos, Shabbosim and Yom Tov, and led many a kumzitz.

I also research the history of old Jewish melodies, especially the niggunim of the early chassidic movement: where a song came from, who composed it, and how it traveled from one community to another. I'm a partner in founding אוצר הניגונים (Oitzer HaNigunim, oitzerhanigunim.org), a website that documents the origins of many of these songs.

People and community

For many years I've been involved with Achim Baderech, a support network bringing positivity, joy, guidance and practical help to men going through a difficult time, so they can move past their struggles and build a good future.

Whatever the setting, my work comes down to people: listening, understanding, and helping someone take the next step. I'm always searching for the truth, and sharing positive knowledge so people can connect to the right surroundings, the right energy and the right way of life.
